Theo's New Hat

I made this hat for little Theo to keep his little head warm for the winter. His mommy is the sole propriotor of petitespoon.etsy.com. He looks happy in his new cap. Can't wait to see his sister in her new hat and sweater.

Colabrated Project

So this weekend I was doing a craft fair at the Julian Dixon Library in Culver City. My good friend Kitming came to visit and spend time with me. She is a brilliant costume jewelry designer. She makes these beautiful little Angel charms with crystals. As we were sitting there, I was working on my crochet flowers. She took these flowers and started to add them to my scarves, hats and shawls. What a difference it made, just a little emblishment to a simple piece helped me sell my hats and scraves like hotcakes. Then she took some home with her and she emblished the flowers with crystals. Here are some samples of them, wow, I am so blessed to have talented friends to even market my products along with theirs. I will post pictures of some of her jewelry here soon.

What I am working on.

So of course last week had been so crazy I couldn't get any projects going. And it's already thursday, but I got some things done so far. I had to fill some custom orders and working diligently on these projects. So to show my progress I thought I share them with you. Let me know what you think.

They are both for lil munchkins.

My next event

This past weekend, was very interesting. I don't know if I should blame the economy or my taste in colors and style. I didn't do as well as I usually do at these events. But it was fun. I met lots of great people and ran into a few from the past.
As for my next event, will be at the Julian Dixon Library in Culver City on November 22, 08. This event is a used book sale combined with craft fair to benefit the library. This is my second year participating and I had a wonderful experience there last year, I am keeping a positive outlook for this year's event. So if you are around that area, please stop by and support local artists and the library.

I did it...

Well, my language test just finished. Not sure if I past, but at least I tried my best. It feels like a big burden has been lifted off my shoulders and I can relax now.
Back to more important things like creating my next piece of work. Working for "the man" sucks. But I guess somebody has to do it.... I can't wait till that one day Yihcollections.com takes me to that level where I can walk into my manager and say thank you for everything but I am done.

So enough dreaming for now, back to business at hand. Please come see me this weekend as I will be at 2 different shows in the OC.

So exhaused...

So I got called out for work this week, wouldn't you know it after sitting home waiting for work for over a month my first trip back I had to go to Japan. For the past 3 days I literally walked across the Pacific Ocean twice. I couldn't get much of my knitting in, since this trip was so hectic. I think I slept for over 14 hours in Japan. Now that I am back, I still couldn't get to my knitting due to the fact that I have this language test I have to past by tomorrow morning and I am completely stressed out over. So this week has been shot for getting anything done. I am so bumbed about it. So wish me luck on this test...

Church Craft Fair

This past saturday, I had a booth at a church craft fair in Whittier, Ca. When I first got there I was a little worried, because I saw many vendors crochetting. I was afraid that competition might be tough. But everyone has their own style and I ended my day not too bad. It did rain in the middle of the day but it didn't rain on my parade.

So this coming weekend I have two more craft fairs, on saturday in Anaheim at the Grace Lutheran Church and sunday in Garden Grove at the St. Callistus Church. I will post the address to both later on this week.

And another piece of encouraging news, I sold my first item on etsy yesterday. So all in all it has been a great weekend. This so encourages me to work even harder and make more beautiful things for people that appreciate handmade works of art.
